You walk into the gym and suddenly feel out of place. Is it just you or is that creepy guy in the corner checking you out? *cringe* You push through the awkwardness and make your way to the treadmill. You dream of blasting your fav tunes, taking up space, and powering through your workout without wondering if your leggings are too see-through... Man, if only there was a way to workout without feeling so uncomfortable.
Even as a personal trainer and self-proclaimed "lover of fitness," I struggle to feel at home in the gym.
But my awkward gym days are over. And yours can be too!
I created The Fit Flamingo because I was craving a safe space where women could gather, workout together, and have deep conversations about the real, heavy stuff.
I spent my first five years as a trainer working in gyms that never quite felt like home.
So I created my own.
In March 2019, I converted a 40-foot shipping container into a personal training studio (finally, my late-night HGTV addiction paid off!).
But when the pandemic hit, I had to get resourceful.
Now my business is 100% online!
It's been a big transition. But I'm so grateful for the opportunity to pivot. Now I get to work with women all over the country. And even though I miss seeing & hugging you in person, I'm so glad we get to spend time together in this virtual capacity.
I'm welcoming the new year (hello 2021, g'byeee 2020!) with the launch of Feel-Good Monthly, my online membership.
